Coromandel

On our third day in Auckland we did a day tour to the Coromandel peninsula. Starting with Hot Water Beach. As the name suggests this beach has hot water underneath, really hot. Dig your hole to the hot water and let it mix with the cold ocean to avoid burning.

An unserem dritten Tag in Auckland machten wir eine Tagestour zur Coromandel-Halbinsel. Wir begannen mit dem Hot Water Beach. Wie der Name schon sagt, hat dieser Strand heißes Wasser unter sich, wirklich heiss. Man gräbt ein Loch zum heissen Wasser und lässt es sich mit dem kalten Meerwasser vermischen, um Verbrennungen zu vermeiden.

We continue our trip with a short drive and hike to the Windows 10 background of the Cathedral Cove and later the third beach of Matarangi.

Wir setzen unsere Reise mit einer kurzen Fahrt und Wanderung zum Windows 10-Hintergrund der Cathedral Cove und später zum dritten Strand von Matarangi fort.

The last stop before heading back to Auckland is at the Driving Creek Railway. A small train that started as a means of transporting clay for New Zealand’s first full time potter Barry Brickell but grew quickly into a tourist attraction. With a steady incline, the track makes its way through various endemic plants (such as the famous Silver Fern) and and pieces of pottery to the top and the Eyefull Tower.

Der letzte Halt vor der Rückfahrt nach Auckland ist bei der Driving Creek Railway. Eine kleine Bahn, die ursprünglich als Transportmittel für den Ton des ersten hauptberuflichen Töpfers Neuseelands, Barry Brickell, diente, sich aber schnell zu einer Touristenattraktion entwickelte. Mit einer stetigen Steigung bahnt sich die Bahn ihren Weg durch verschiedene endemische Pflanzen (wie den berühmten Silberfarn) und Töpferstücke bis zur Spitze und dem Eyefull Tower.
